About Moon-Seed:
One late night, in the winter of 2016, Cathy had a little idea to use some scrap wood from an art project to make some new, fun, funky, earrings. That little idea made a huge impact on her because shortly after, Moon-Seed was born. Moon-Seed is creator Cathy’s reflection of the seed that was planted that night; the name is an ode to artistic night habits.
From its inception in 2016, Moon-Seed is all about creating art for your ears. Cathy specializes in designing statement earrings with a fun, bold play on circular forms, geometric shapes, classic art movements, Caribbean motifs, and colorful patterns. She also credits inspiration in her choice of mediums; by embracing materials such as wood, acrylic, and resin, her work is inherently dynamic, sophisticated, sculptural, versatile, and unique.
Each piece is designed and handmade (from start to finish) in her home studio in Charleston, South Carolina. Cathy and her work have been featured in publications from Buzzfeed, HGTV, HuffPost, Essence, and Southern Living. She uses her platform as an artist to support and thank a wider community of artists, makers, small businesses, and slow fashion enthusiasts.
