The artist designed this piece for his own home at Laurelton Hall, where its understated pearl and silver hues were the centerpiece of the grand library. It now is a part of the permanent collection at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. 

The vivid pattern appears on one side of the shawl, while the reverse is a softly muted tonal background -- adding versatility and lightness to your look. These silk-blend shawls are not opaque, so the primary pattern is visible on the reverse.
